Prescription Orthotics and Orthopedic Devices are medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalances.  Orthotics work on the foot in the same way as braces work on the teeth - by exerting gentle and consistent pressure to bring foot muscles and bones back into proper alignment.  They fit comfortably in shoes and are usually made of flexible molded thermoplastic.  The devices are made from custom precise impressions taken from your feet.  At The Physiotherapy & Rehab Centre, our healthcare professionals ensure your orthotics and footwear can synchronize to bring the best corrective results. 

Compression Stockings

Compression Stockings ensures oxygenated blood to be transported  to your legs and de-oxygenated blood  to be transported back to your heart.  This transportation of blood are powered by the muscles and joints, with the veins functioning as pipes. In cases where  veins become enlarged, the flow of blood becomes inefficient.  Compression stockings constricts the pipes to restore adequate blood transport, thereby revitalizing the legs.  When blood flow of the legs become more efficient, heart becomes more efficient and the body tires out much slower.  This is why compression stockings are commonly used by working people who stand or walk a lot, professional soccer players, and basketball players of the  NBA. 

Tempur Pillow and Products

The Tempur material, initially designed by NASA space technology for the space shuttle, is a high density, visco-elastic, 100% open cell material unlike any other in the market.  It is five times more dense than conventional polyurethane and is temperature sensitive.  At body temperature, the Tempur products will mold to the shape of your body.  The Tempur neck pillows prevent and promote healing of pressure sores on the head, ear, and heels.  It also promotes healing to head and neck injuries.  It provides support to improve sleeping postures, thus improves comfort and sleep quality. All of these effects could be compromised, however, if you purchase an improperly sized Tempur pillow.   At The Physiotherapy & Rehab Centre, our health care professionals will measure your body to ensure you purchase a properly sized pillow. 

Embrace Airplus Back Support

 The Embrace AirPlus Back Support, has a concave design which provides excellent stability for the lumbar spine. The inflatable air chamber lets you adjust lower back support to your precise comfort level. Vertical adjustment of the air chamber lets you place the lumbar support where it fits best.  Thus, it promotes proper sitting posture and comfort.
